I love sleeping.
Complete silence, dreams,
silence, movements,
awakening and sleep again,
no awareness of any elapsed time.
What an invention.

One of the guidelines in my life
is the making of the PianoTweets.
Every odd day I publish
a new piece, that’s true.
But the source for this whole guideline
is a constant force, a stable wish
to play this much, to share this music.
I met an artist yesterday,
and he talked about his “inner need” to create, to publish.
I fully agreed with him:
I recognise the same drive,
I feel exactly the same power.
Thank you, Annemoon,
for your tip to get this title done.
This could be a new Series!
So many stories to tell about…
My elder brother stayed with me some days lately.
Of course, we talked about
our common past,
our shared years.
It’s very healthy to analyse various aspects of those times,
the consequences of that family life,
without “hanging around” in the past, and
letting the burdens rule our temporary lives.
Every story contains lessons for life.
In daily life we often think and talk about details.
That’s important, of course:
because everything is based on the details.
Now do observe the evolution of our existence.
Maybe it’s even be more important
to discover the lines between the details.
The lines really do connect,
the lines explain the reason why.
Like, for example,
the construction of a building,
the organic functions of the human body,
or biodiversity,
evolution.
Like all the lines in history.
Like the connection between dust and spirit.
An exercise, a search, an improvisation.
Like we do in real life.
There’s always the basic wave:
the heart that beats,
the breath that goes on and on.
Which gives us power to live,
thoughts to drift all the way,
dreams to realize.
Give space to all tears and smiles,
being aware of all small painful and precious moments.
Dear listeners and followers,
It’s your turn.
Find me a title for this piece!
Maybe you even have a suggestion for a short introduction?
Then write a text and mail it to joost@pianotweets.com.
I’ll make a choice for you
and add it to the site.
Today I read some lines
about green landscapes and bowed skylines.
I saw myself, sitting at the top of a hill.
Immediately I heard this music in my head
and recorded it instantaneously.
Inspiration always is fast, and so very near.
