Music from the Archive (5) – PianoTweet no. 241 (replay)

(basic text written on August 29th, 2011)

I have been a bit ill lately.
And still not yet in the right shape…
It will be better soon.

That’s one of the reasons to open
the Archive’s Door some more.

Enjoy this piece and keep in mind:
there’s an Original.
This is a so called Sample.

Music from the Archive (4) – PianoTweet no. 240 (replay)

(basic text written on August 28th, 2011)

This piece of piano music is one track of a multitrack recording.
Originally I added some more parts with synthesizer tracks to it.
But today it’s up to the piano solo.

One day I might let you hear the complete piece or a part of it.
Like this is a part of the complete piano track.

Today no text about reflections or whatever else.
Just listen quiet.
That will do.

Neither any inspiration
nor the technical possibility
to invent and record a new PianoTweet

Here’s where the Archive saves me again.

I want to go on,
but I do not always have enough power.

I’m only a human being.
I’m only a piano player,
inventing a melody now and then.

In addition I write a text, like this one.
Some of them are full of inspiration.
Some of them are just a hollow phrase.

I wrote far more than 200 small pieces of text, being not a writer at all.
I’m just a musician – not a writer, nor a photographer.

And on we go, listening to the Archive.

The actual reason is that I’m not in my hometown these days,
so no new recordings right now.
But the Archive saves me, wherever and whenever.

It’s always with a small tear and a little sigh of happiness,
listening ot this “old” music pieces.

I realise how music is always a saving and healing medium,
from everything that tries to tear one down.

Being in a disturbing and chaotic world,
there are so many beautiful things as well.

(text written on August 25, 2011)

I started playing piano at the age 9.
I started improvising a few years later.
My teacher told me I should learn my lessons first.
I didn’t.
First I improvised, then I started my terrible exercises.

I started to record some improvisations in the early 80’s, of the 20th century 😉
I lost a rather big part of those recordings during the years.
They all travelled to hearing ears outside this world.

This PianoTweet was taken from the archive of 2008.
In this period I will present more improvisations.

Today it’s no. 1’s turn.

Prelude in C minor – PianoTweet no. 224 (replay)

(text written on August 12th, 2011)

“Prelude” or “Preludium”, the word comes from
the medieval Latin, meaning: “to be played before”.

Such a beautiful word,
so many associations can be made.
About the moment of Now,
right before the Future starts.

This singing melody wishes to help you to get into this state.
Powerful, clear, open.

Focussing – PianoTweet no. 223 (replay)

(text written on August 11th, 2011)

You might hear it in this PianoTweet.

A focus on one chord.
A minor.
Then, after a little while, another chord joins.
C major: it’s the parallel chord of the A minor.

It’s like shifting a focus.
Turning the head, to the left or to the right.

Focussing is allright:
but it’s important to keep in sight the parallel world,
to create more possibilities and space.
