An Immense Area – PianoTweet no. 221 (replay)

(text written on August 9th, 2011)

I had the intention to write about something very big.
Something so big that it’s impossible to understand.
Like the Universe.

Then, yesterday evening,
something really sad happened to a girlfriend of mine.
She got a kind of a stroke,
an accident in her brain.

She got slightly paralyzed at the right hand side of her body.
After all, fortunately, she’s not too bad.
She doesn’t feel ill, she can talk and moves rather well.

I realized once again and very clearly what it is:
A Very Big Something.
The human brain is a Universe on its own.
It’s beyond fantasy and understanding
how our brains function.

We’re surrounded by it, we’re a part of it and we ARE:
This Immense Area, this Universe.
“As above, so below”.

Update October 29th, 2013:

The girlfriend I wrote about in this text
is in much better shape now than two years ago,
when it all happened.

Connection in E minor – PianoTweet no. 216 (replay)

(text written on August 4th, 2011)

Oooh, those days with Inspiration…!
Oooh, those days without Inspiration…!

That’s a composer’s fate
and a composer’s fear
at the same time.

So, when those days are there,
I have my most faithful instrument:
Improvisation!

I choose a key.
I put my hands on the keys.
And I play.
And I play.
And the notes are there.

And I got the Connection.

Little Ladybug – PianoTweet no. 215 (replay)

(text written on August 3rd, 2011)

I often work at home.
And during one of these days in summer,
with all windows of the house wide open –
it happened.

Little Ladybug visited my house.

She landed upon the table,
walked around a bit in circles,
as if she was shopping around
during a paused flight.

She took off again –
leaving without a word.
She just passed on by –
honored me with her presence.
She left –
leaving a state of complete balance and harmony.

Little Ladybug made my day.

Dream with a Tear – PianoTweet no. 214 (replay)

(text written on August 2nd, 2011)

Want to tell you about a dream.
A dream with a tear.

I often dream an image of myself,
walking on and on, around and around,
in a big house with high ceilings and archways
like the streets in Bologna.

Rooms, halls, people, candles, rumour, dancing, music;
the atmosphere is medieval.
I’m walking around
searching for someone or something,
don’t know what.
Just walking.

When I wake up, I feel so incredibly happy,
and I feel a Tear dripping down my cheek.
As if I were at home again.
As if I found back my first love and my final love.

I’m happy all day long.
A Tear drops by.

Compromise – PianoTweet no. 213 (replay)

(text written on August 1st, 2011)

Making the PianoTweets
is a composition of Compromises.

The choice of a subject, the choice of a key, the way to play, the atmosphere.
My brain creates non-stop compromises.

Like in real life, we live in compromises all the time.
There’s always a choice for the most of us;
meanwhile our choices should be based on “clean” arguments.

And almost every moment we make choices,
between our feelings on one side and our minds on the other.

Compromises contain the answers in searching and discovering our balance.
